The Artifice Girl

In a closed room, Gareth finds himself under an uncomfortable interrogation by Amos and Deena. They suspect him of being an online child molester due to pictures of a young girl on his computer. However, all is not as it seems. Gareth’s actions and morality may be connected to something deeper. When Gareth introduces them to Cherry, everything takes an unexpected turn.

Franklin Ritch serves as the writer, director, and one of the main characters in his debut project. Shot in only three spaces and featuring a modest cast of five actors, Ritch skillfully crafts a precise script that tells a story about the moral limits of AI. The narrative explores the possibility of AI developing feelings of their own and raises questions about whether the end justifies the means. Thought-provoking and compelling, The Artifice Girl delves into the traumas of its protagonists and examines how their relationships intertwine in the battle against their personal struggles.
