Feña has undergone a gender transition to become a man, experiencing both physical and mental changes. In the next crucial 24 hours, he will see his father, whom he hasn’t encountered since starting hormone therapy. Additionally, he spends time with his younger sister and meets with his ex, a boy he still has feelings for.

Without succumbing to sensationalism, newcomer Vuk Lungulow-Klotz authentically portrays the daily struggles of a trans person. It is a profoundly human story, devoid of embellishments, set in an impersonal New York City. Here, we witness Feña’s drama, as well as his determination, his will to live, and the challenges of loving someone in a stigmatized world. Lungulow-Klotz offers a close examination of a familiar reality but does so in a delicate and intimate manner. The film won the U.S. Dramatic Special Jury Award for Best Acting at Sundance.
