Rotting in the Sun

Sebastián Silva finds himself in the midst of a creativity crisis, grappling with self-destructive tendencies and contemplating suicide. A visit to a gay nude beach becomes a turning point when he encounters Jordan Firstman, a social media influencer. Together, they decide to collaborate on a project. However, their partnership takes an unexpected turn when a domestic incident disrupts their plans.

Silva’s latest film is a free-spirited, bold, and eccentric exploration that seamlessly blends explicit sexuality, addiction, meta-cinema, thriller elements, investigation, and, above all, comedy. Silva also showcases his comedic talent as an actor, sharing the screen with the brilliant Catalina Saavedra, who earned a nomination at the Independent Spirit Awards and previously starred in Silva’s breakthrough film, “The Maid” (2009). This feature film is comparable to “Only Murders in the Building,” but with a twisted, punk soul.
