Omaha

Ella and Charlie are forced to leave their home with their father and embark on a journey to Nebraska. Their goal is uncertain, but through their clear-eyed view of the world, we discover how childhood happiness, small shared moments, and everyday details filled with magic become a troubling prelude to the end of their innocence and their world.

Amid the immensity of the landscapes that punctuate their path, glances and silences shape this story of dignity and loss, brought to life by memorable performances from John Magaro (a familiar face from Kelly Reichardt’s films) and the remarkable young actress Molly Bell Wright in a heart-wrenching role. Cole Webley’s debut feature, with a script by Robert Machoian (The Killing of Two Lovers), garnered strong reviews and deeply moved audiences during its run at festivals such as Sundance and Gijón.
