Winner at Sundance and nominated at the Independent Spirit Awards, Nine Days marks the directorial debut of Edson Oda, who also wrote the screenplay. It is one of the most gripping and emotional debut films of the last few years.
In an isolated house in an unknown dimension, a man interviews various human souls for nine days. Only one of them will be chosen and given the opportunity to live in the real world, which is much more intense than the parallel universe they know. Those who do not get selected will disappear. The emotions and desires of the candidates and those of the interviewer merge into a cocktail of fears, hopes, illusions and passions. Nine Days is a beautiful and heartfelt film, with superb performances and enveloping music.
