La Bête

In a near future where AI is omnipresent, human emotions have become a threat. To liberate herself from their clutches, Gabrielle must purify her ADN by going back to her past lives. There, she reconnects with Louis, her great love. However, as her fears intensify, she senses an impending catastrophe.

Masterful filmmaker Bertrand Bonello (House of Tolerance, Zombi Child) presents this sci-fi piece at the Americana Film Fest, co-produced and narrated by Xavier Dolan. A unique adaptation of Henry James’ novel The Beast in the Jungle, it premiered at the Venice Film Festival and earned the award for Best Actress (Léa Seydoux) at last year’s Valladolid International Film Festival. In Bonello’s own words, this film is a true journey—not only through time but also on a mental, physical, emotional, and sensorial level.
