All That Breathes

Screening with the Short film Nuisance Bear

Nominated for best documentary feature at the Oscars, the Spirit Awards, and the BAFTA, and winner at Sundance and Cannes, Shaunak Sen’s All That Breathes has received the most honors this year, and is one of the most impressive features of 2022.

Warmly received by international critics, this documentary shows the troublesome Delhi region through the eyes of two brothers devoting their lives to the care of the Black Kite, an endangered bird species. And it is in their absolute dedication, in their difficulty to obtain funds to carry on with their project, and in their unwavering conviction that Sen’s documentary becomes invaluable, a fight of David against Goliath, a battle against time, the system, and your surroundings.

Slow-paced and dreamy, but filled with shocking images, All That Breathes proves that to save the global ecosystem, you need unflinching resilience and also, that you can find compassion in the rubble of the most remote places on the planet.
