Six years after the beginning of the Syrian crisis, thousands of people are still living in refugee camps. After Spring is a documentary portraying the aftermath of the crisis, following the lives of two families of refugees in their temporary ‘home’ along with some of the workers who help maintaining the camp up and running. The audience will be able to experience what life is like inside Zaatari, the biggest of the Syrian refugee camps. With no end in sight to the conflict in Syria or the refugee crisis, the victims have to rebuild their lives somewhere that was never meant to be their final destination.
Directed by producer Ellen Martínez, who spent over eight years in the Middle East (four in Damascus), and writer-producer and frequent humanitarian volunteer Steph Ching, After Spring will be presented at our annual fundraising movie night, ‘Americana Love’, which will take place for the first time before the actual festival. With the hope of raising awareness, we invite everyone to attend the event and support the victims of a crisis we should all feel concerned about, instead of looking the other way. All the money collected during this special screening, in association with Casa Nostra Casa Vostra, will be donated to help the Syrian refugees.
